Dress Code: COSTUMES MANDATORY! (Dark training gear/soft socks under your costume recommended for the movement drills).

If you’ve trained with me, you know my background covers Karate, Boxing, and Wing Chun. But there is a whole other side to my training that rarely makes it onto the mat: Ninjutsu. Specifically, I have trained in 12 of the 18 disciplines that make up the art.

And if you know me, you know I am a massive, unapologetic Batman fan—I’ve always absolutely loved the character. When I started planning this Halloween event, it hit me: I can finally bring that world to life. Batman is essentially the ultimate, high-tech version of a ninja, and since I’ve actually trained in 12 of the 18 traditional Ninjutsu disciplines, I have the perfect toolkit to make this experience feel authentic.

I rarely teach these skills, and for good reason—most of them just don’t translate to modern real-life scenarios. You can’t exactly walk down the street throwing blades, using smoke bombs, or dropping flashbangs. Even Shinobi-iri—the art of stealth and infiltration—doesn't have much practical application in your day-to-day life. But because it’s Halloween, I realized I had the perfect idea to bring these concepts out of the shadows for one night only.

We are shutting off the dojo lights, turning on the fog machines, and bringing Gotham City to life for an epic three-hour night event.

Yes, because it's Halloween, costumes are a must—and yes, I will be teaching the entire night fully suited up in a Batman costume!

This night is all about having a blast, playing some high-energy themed games, and keeping things accessible. We will be breaking down very basic, entry-level ninjutsu skills and mixing them directly with iconic Batman combat moves. Specifically Batman’s fighting style from the Arkham Game Series. While it’s designed to be a fun, festive night, the skills are rooted in the authentic tactical mechanics I’ve actually trained in, these are real Ninjutsu skills simply in a fun game like format, but like I said the skills are real.

Real Stealth Games (Shinobi-iri & Intonjutsu): We are playing the ultimate game of hide-and-seek in the dark. You'll learn the basic biomechanics of Nuki Ashi (silent footwork) to sneak across the mat, use blind spots to slip past "Arkham Guards," and finish with a slow-motion, video-game style silent takedown.

The Batarang Range (Shurikenjutsu): Learn the real physics of projectile throwing. We’ll be running a rapid-fire target course using foam training stars and replica Batarangs, teaching you how to draw and fire while moving.

Arkham FreeFlow Fun (Taijutsu): We are breaking down the martial arts behind Batman's fighting style. We'll play with explosive distance-closing entries, fluid spin-steps to redirect an attacker, and basic multi-directional blocks to handle two opponents at once. Using moves that Batman himself has used in the Arkham Game Series.

This is the ultimate chance to put on a costume, throw some Batarangs, play some awesome tactical games in the dark, and walk away with a genuine taste of the ninjutsu fieldcraft I’ve studied for years.

Spaces are strictly limited so we can safely run the dark games across the three hours.

This is free of charge would any student of the Dojo, and free for anyone who just wants the experience who isn’t a student.
