LEGAL: The Law Is the Final Judge Of Your Actions By Sensei Liam Musiak

The final word in our A.A.E.E.L. Self-Defence Code is LEGAL—because no matter how skilled or justified you feel, the law has the final say. Every move you make in a self-defence situation must stand up in court as reasonable and necessary.

If you assess a situation and avoid it altogether, that’s not just smart—it’s legally ideal. If you’re forced to take action, your response must be proportionate. A pre-emptive strike can be legal—if you truly believed violence was imminent and your reaction was reasonable. If you behave ethically—stopping when the threat is over—you’re protecting yourself from crossing into illegal territory. And escaping at the earliest opportunity shows you were not looking for a fight, but trying to remove yourself from danger.

We train hard at Voracious Karate, but we also train with legal awareness. Our students understand the laws around reasonable force, duty of care, and self-defence in the UK. It’s not enough to win a confrontation—you must be able to explain why your actions were justified and necessary.

A real martial artist doesn’t just train their body. They train their mind—and they know the law. That’s what keeps you safe, during and after the fight.
