A lot of people have asked me about the GRA since Voracious Karate made history as the first martial arts school in the world to ever win one.
Here’s the truth: the Global Recognition Awards™ are not a martial arts award. They are an international, cross-industry award body that recognises organisations and individuals setting new benchmarks of excellence, innovation, and impact.
Past winners have included Tesla, SpaceX, and other global giants. These awards are on the same stage as the biggest innovators in the world — not local trophies, not martial arts-only prizes.
🔎 How They Decide
The GRA doesn’t just “pick names.” They use the Rasch model measurement system — a scientific framework that scores candidates on multiple categories like:✅ Innovation✅ Leadership and vision✅ Originality✅ Practical impact✅ Teaching/operational excellence
Each category is judged by impartial industry experts, with no bias for field or geography.
📊 How We Scored
Voracious Karate — a dojo from Swadlincote — was evaluated against organisations worldwide and scored a perfect 5/5 across every category.
That means we weren’t just recognised in martial arts — we were competing against businesses, innovators, and leaders from all industries.
🌍 Why It’s Big
This is one of the biggest awards in the world, and until 2025, no martial artist or dojo had ever won it.
At the time, I was only 20 years old and a 2nd Dan Black Belt.
Our work was described as a “critical paradigm shift in martial arts education”, placing us alongside companies like Tesla and SpaceX for reshaping an entire field.
🥋 I am humbled and honoured that both myself and Voracious Karate are now part of this history.
This proves that martial arts isn’t about waiting decades or chasing belts — it’s about skills, knowledge, dedication, innovation, and contribution.
We were up against the world, and we won.
