A New Era Begins — The Founding of Jissenkō Ryū Karate 🥋

One of the biggest and best days of my life.

Today we signed the official founding document for Jissenkō Ryū Karate (実戦幸流空手) —

The Real Combat School of Karate.

Voracious Karate is our club and brand — and Jissenkō Ryū Karate is the style we practice and train within it.

This style grew naturally from years of training, teaching, criminology study, real-world self-defence, kata creation, pressure testing, psychological conditioning, and legal understanding.

The truth is simple:

It is no longer Wado Ryu — and hasn’t been for a long time.

What began as Evolved Wado Ryu has moved so far beyond traditional Wado that keeping the name would be inaccurate — and disrespectful.

Disrespectful to Wado Ryu.

Disrespectful to its founder.

Disrespectful to those who preserve the art properly.

Wado Ryu deserves honesty.

So today, the style we truly train receives its real name:

🥋 Jissenkō Ryū Karate

The Real Combat School of Karate

How Jissenkō Ryū Differs

In Jissenkō Ryū:

• we train for real combat, not choreography

• we prioritise principles over memorisation

• techniques adapt to the individual

• drills create unique fighters, not clones

• realism, pressure, psychology, and legality shape everything

I teach principles — not copies.

Every student becomes a different kind of fighter.

Nothing Changes for Students

Your Wado Ryu belts, grades, and certificates remain yours.

You automatically receive your equivalent place within Jissenkō Ryū.

The dojo stays the same.

The training stays the same.

Voracious Karate continues exactly as it is.

Only the name changes — for honesty.
