In 2025, history was made.

Voracious Karate became the first — and only — martial arts club in the world to win the Global Recognition Award™.

This isn’t a local trophy. It isn’t even an award from within the martial arts industry. The Global Recognition Award™ is an international honour given to organisations and innovators across fields such as technology, healthcare, hospitality, finance, and education. No martial arts club has ever received this recognition. Until now.

Why Voracious Karate?

The judging panel used the Rasch Measurement Model — a scientific system for measuring excellence objectively. Voracious Karate achieved a perfect 5/5 score in every category: leadership, innovation, originality, and teaching methodology.

They highlighted:

• Our 1st Dan Black Belt syllabus, described as the most demanding and realistic in the world.

• A curriculum that blends traditional karate with modern self-defence, criminology, and psychology.

• Original drills and kata — all invented at Voracious Karate — designed to test resilience and realism under pressure.

• The transformative impact on students’ lives, far beyond physical training.

The panel also noted how unusual this recognition was. Normally, awards of this scale are given to 50+ year-old masters, ranked 7th–10th Dan, who have decades of experience. Instead, it went to a 20-year-old 2nd Dan and the club he built from the ground up.

A Historic First

By awarding Voracious Karate the Global Recognition Award™, the judges didn’t just acknowledge what happens inside our dojo — they made a statement about the future of martial arts.

For too long, martial arts has sometimes been seen as frozen in tradition, or limited to sport and competition. Voracious Karate challenged that idea by building a system focused on real-world survival, adaptability, and innovation.

This award proves that martial arts — when evolved and applied with vision — can stand shoulder to shoulder with the very best innovations in the world.

What It Means for Us

This recognition belongs not just to me as founder, but to every student who has trained at Voracious Karate. Every punch, every kata, every pressure drill and scenario — it all added up to this moment.

We are not just another dojo. We are the only martial arts club in history to hold this award.

That is something no one can take away from us.

But while this honour is historic, our mission hasn’t changed. We will keep training, keep evolving, and keep preparing people for the realities of life outside the dojo. Awards are a milestone — but the journey continues.
