Level 2 Sensei Qualification – Voracious Karate

Available to Brown Belt White Stripe & Above | Age 18+ Only

This is the second of three instructor development levels at Voracious Karate. Level 2 increases the expectations for independence, technical clarity, and leadership under pressure.

Candidates must complete all requirements within 6 months of enrolment.

Eligibility

• Minimum rank: Brown Belt White Stripe

• Minimum age: 18 years old

• Must have successfully passed Level 1

• Must be a regularly attending student at Voracious Karate

Level 2 Requirements

• Assist Sensei Liam in classes with greater leadership responsibility

• Begin teaching solo, including planning and managing parts of class without prompting

• Lead 4 full classes independently, each formally observed and reviewed by Sensei Liam

• Demonstrate and explain techniques, drills, concepts, and methods up to Brown Belt White Stripe level

• Deliver advanced feedback and correction to beginner and intermediate students during live classes

• Show ability to adapt explanations for different ages, abilities, and learning styles

• Present a 15-minute talk or mini-workshop on an assigned martial arts topic (e.g. kata logic, self-defence ethics, biomechanics)

• Submit a 500-word written essay titled “What It Means to Lead in Martial Arts — Beyond the Belt”

• Be evaluated on professionalism, clarity, presence, reliability, communication, and tone

Level 2 marks the shift from assistant to teacher.

It’s where you prove you can lead others confidently, think independently, and speak with the authority of someone who understands both the art and the student.

Time Frame: 6 months

Requirement: All components must be completed to progress to Level 3
